Administration

Mission: Unite, Inspire, Empower

Vision: What starts here, will soon change the World

Goals for both our SEA Horses and SEA Dragons:

Success begins with a student feeling safe and secure.
Enriched opportunities for hands-on learning that meets the needs of the future workforce.
Academic Rigor to help our students be well prepared for their future.

Commitments:

• To provide a safe and secure learning environment.
• All children are capable of learning, it is our job to help them meet academic success.
• Provide a Rigorous curriculum and electives to meet the needs of our students, as well as prepare them to be successful in high school.

Focus:

We believe that all students are leaders at The Sanibel School. We will provide every student with the skills necessary to be academically successful as well as to lead a well-balanced life. We believe in the whole child. Helping each student to find his or her passion beyond academics is important, as we believe it is that passion that will keep them motivated to learn new things. Providing time for a rich discussion on topics, and time for students to truly understand their own learning is critical. Students will be taught to track their progress and set goals through a Leadership Binder. Hands-on learning is embraced at the Sanibel School and is especially evident with our strong S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and Environmental Education programs.

Assistant Principal

Jennifer Lusk – Principal, The Sanibel School

With over two decades of dedicated service in the Lee County School District, I have been committed to fostering academic excellence and a positive school culture. Since 2004, I have served in various educational roles, and for the past five years, I have had the privilege of being an administrator at The Sanibel School.

My passion for leadership and continuous improvement led me to win the 2019 Florida Sterling Council Storyboard Competition for my Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt project, “Absent Minded”, which focused on reducing staff absenteeism by enhancing school culture. This initiative underscores my belief that a strong, supportive environment is key to student and staff success.

Beyond my role in education, I am deeply invested in the Sanibel-Captiva community. I am a proud member of the Sanibel-Captiva Rotary Club, the Sanibel-Captiva Kiwanis Club, and the Sanibel-Captiva Business Women’s Association. As a lifelong Lee County resident, I am dedicated to giving back to the community that has shaped me.

Above all, I am a proud wife to Christopher and mother to Kylie and David. My commitment to education and community is driven by my belief that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in a nurturing and inspiring environment.
