The Sanibel School is currently accepting applications for students in grade K-8 whose families live on island.  They also are accepting applications from families who work on Sanibel Island as well.  If you are an employer or business on Sanibel, please spread the word to your off island employees that they may also register their children at the school.   We are also currently accepting off island waivers. ATTENTION 8TH GRADE PARENTS AND STUDENTS: HIGH SCHOOL OPEN HOUSE INFORMATION

Please see the following link from the District regarding upcoming Open House information https://www.leeschools.net/calendars/open_houses  Here is additional information for some of the high schools that our current 8th graders have expressed interest int: Dunbar Open House Jan 13th at 6pm; Cypress Open House Jan 15th at 6pm; South Fort Myers HS contact the school directly; Fort Myers HS contact Susan Postma at 239-334-2167 ex 221.  Susan can arrange a tour and is also responsible for the IB program. Please note that the IB Application window is open from January 13th to January 31st.

 

ELEMENTARY REPORT CARDS GO HOME THURSDAY, JANUARY 16TH.

Quarter 2 report cards will be sent home this Thursday with all elementary students. Middle school report cards will be mailed home this next week. Please contact your child’s teacher/s if you have any questions or concerns.

 

ELEMENTARY CHOIR REHEARSAL TUESDAY, JANUARY 14THThe Elementary Choir will have rehearsal on Tuesday, January 14th during their usual time from 2:15-3:15pm in the music room.  The next rehearsal will take place on Tuesday, January 21st from 2:15-3:15pm.  Please contact Mr. Giangreco at JosephAG@LeeSchools.net if you have any questions.

 

SEAHORSE CHORALE DISNEY PARENT MEETING ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 14TH

On Tuesday at 5:30pm in the music room, there will be a MANDATORY parent meeting for all Seahorse Chorale parents regarding their upcoming performance trip to Walt Disney World!  Seahorse Chorale students are encouraged to attend as well.  If you are unable to attend the meeting, please contact Mr. G at JosephAG@LeeSchools.net.

 

PERFORMING ARTS PARENT MEETING ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 14TH

On Tuesday at 6:00pm in the music room, there will be a MANDATORY parent meeting for all parents of students in Performing Arts.  We will be discussing important information relating to Performing Arts and the ways in which parents can be involved with our upcoming production of Mary Poppins Jr.  The success of our production relies heavily on the many parents and family members that volunteer.  More information will be provided at the meeting.  If you are unable to attend the meeting, please contact Mr. G at JosephAG@LeeSchools.net.

 

ORFF CLUB MEETS ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 16TH

Orff Club will meet during their usual time on Thursday, January 16th from 2:15-3:15pm in the music room.   All members are expected to attend.  Please contact Mr. Giangreco at JosephAG@LeeSchools.net if you have any question.

 

MIDDLE SCHOOL SEA DRAGON NEWS

Soccer: The boys’ and girls’ soccer teams will be practicing on Tuesday, January 14 and Thursday, January 16 from 2:15 till 4:00pm. All players should report to Mrs. Scarnato's room right after school. All players need to be wearing cleats and shin guards to practice. INTERACT CLUB

Thank you to all the elementary students who are collecting quarters for our school -wide community service project Feed My Starving Children.  We will continue collecting quarters through the end of the month.  Middle school parents please be on the lookout for permission slips they went home on Monday, please return signed forms by 1/24 so your student can go to the mobile food pack on 1/31.  

 

CONGRATULATIONS TO KRISTIAN SCHAFER FOR PER-FOR-ING IN THE ALL STATE MIDDLE SCHOOL MIXED CHOIR!   

Last week, Kristian traveled to Tampa, FL to be a part of this choir at the Florida Music Educators Association Conference.  He participated in daily rehearsals and workshops.  At the end of the week on Saturday, January 11th, Kristian participated in the All State Middle School Mixed Choir concert and did a great job! It was an honor for Kristian to have been accepted and participate in this ensemble.
