RECREATION CENTER NEWS

FUN DAY AT REC! Friday, March 15th 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Join us Friday, March 15th for a variety of fun games, athletics, crafts and activities! Don’t forget our gym and swim combo (weather permitting). Our regular gym and swim combo is always a part of every Fun Day at Rec!  Hours are from 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and will be available for grades Kindergarten through Eighth Grade.  Don’t forget to pack a swimsuit and towel. Each child will need to bring their own lunch on Fun Days.  Register in advance and receive the “Early Bird” rate.

 

SPRING BREAK CAMP March 18th – March 22nd

Join us during Spring Break at the Sanibel Recreation Center for a fun filled week with athletics, games and crafts. Spring Break Camp will be held Monday, March 18th through Friday, March 22nd from 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Enrollment is available for children in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Don’t forget to pack a swimsuit and towel.  Each child will need to bring their own lunch for the day. Register in advance and receive the “Early Bird” rate. SPRING TRIMESTER    ELEMENTARY AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Spring Trimester Runs February 22nd, 2019 – May 30th, 2019

Registration is now available for the 2018-2019 Sanibel Recreation Center After School Program Spring Trimester.  The After School program runs Monday through Friday from 2:10 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. throughout the school year. It is available for children ages kindergarten through fifth grade. Sessions will require re-enrollment during each designated trimester and must be pre-purchased prior to the start of each session. For more info, call the Sanibel Recreation Center at (239) 472-0345.       

 

SPRING TRIMESTER    TEENS AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Registration is now available for the new 2018-2019 Sanibel Recreation Center Teen Scene After School Program Spring Trimester.  The Teen Scene After School program runs Monday through Friday from 2:10 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. throughout the school year. It is available for children in sixth through eighth grade.  Teens will enjoy a variety of on and off property activities throughout each school week including community service opportunities. Transportation for island activities will be provided via the City Teen Scene van.  Sessions will require re-enrollment during each designated trimester and must be purchased prior to the start of each session. S.W.A.T.

Register Now!

SWAT is a youth swim team program for ages 5 to 18 designed to improve stroke technique and to build endurance. Participants must be able to swim the length of the pool (25 yards) in order to participate. In addition to becoming members of Sanibel Water Attack Team, swimmers will get a chance to join Swim Florida for competitions. Stop by or call the Sanibel Recreation Center at (239) 472-0345 for more information on practice times and fee options.

 

 AFTER SCHOOL SCIENCE AT SANIBEL SEA SCHOOL

Sanibel Sea School will once again offer a series of after school science programs for students ages 6-13. The spring program will be about renewable energy, and participants will discover through hands-on activities how clean energy can be harvested from the sun, wind, water and earth. Sessions will be offered Tuesdays 3/5, 3/12, 3/26, and 4/2 from 3:30 – 5:30 PM. $20 per student per session, details and registration at sanibelseaschool.org/afterschool.

 

LOGOS NERF NIGHT AT SANIBEL COMMUNITY CHURCH

Join us this Wednesday, March 13 for LOGOS Nerf Night at Sanibel Community Church, 1740 Periwinkle Way. All families with kids’ ages 3 years old through 5th grade are welcome. Activities include music, games, crafts, lesson and a home style kid-friendly meal. Then get ready to go all out with nerf games and tons of nerf balls. SMALL GROUP NIGHT AT H2O YOUTH GROUP

Come join the youth group Wednesday, March 13 for small group night celebrations. Each grade is participating in a different activity, such as, movie night, bowling, escape room, friends, food and fellowship and spa night. Contact Pastor Kevin at kevin@sanibelchurch.com to find out what your grade is doing that evening and join the fun. All teens in 6th through 12th grade are invited to participate in small group night. Youth group meets at 5-7 p.m. for middle school and 6-8 p.m. for high school. YOUTH BASEBALL & T-BALL - 2019 SEASON - REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!

Registration for the 2019 Youth Baseball and T-Ball season is now open and is scheduled to close on March 29th.  The season starts at the beginning of April and all divisions are co-ed with age ranges from Pre-K through 5th grade.  The cost for the season is $75 per player, with a discount for additional family members.  For more information, and for registration, please visit www.SanibelSports.orgPLEASE register on time to ensure that teams can be formed and uniforms ordered on time. FREE AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS @ SANIBEL PUBLIC LIBRARY Clique (4th-6th grade) moves to Wednesday at 3 p.m. and Crew (K-3rd grade) Thursdays at 3 p.m. Each is tailored to the group’s age levels.
