School Reopening Updates

Latest information on School Reopening
Students at Work

The District sent information this week to both parents and staff about reopening plans.  And the first day of school for your student was pushed back 3 weeks to August 31st.  You have until July 30th (deadline was extended!) to register your choice of instructional model for each student in your household.  The survey is available at

Please be sure to read the information on the registration page about enrolling your child.  Only on-island resident enrollments will be processed at the Sanibel School, and only by appointment.

While Lee County’s Virtual K-8 Summer Expanded Learning program has officially come to a close, student enrichment can still continue using iReady ELA and mathematics. iReady is an interactive online learning program that helps students build essential skills in reading and mathematics. Students can continue to access their iReady ELA and mathematics accounts now through August 13th via their student launchpad. Here is the link to our Summer Enrichment packet of resources.

The latest information from the District can be found at: (check out the FAQs on the School Reintroduction Page).   Five reopening models were presented to the Board and approved.  A graphic is depicted below for your information.  We will update the information on reopening plans here as quickly as we can and as plans firm up.   We will also be sending you regular updates from both the District and the School.   Thanks for your understanding.
