YOUTH SOCCER - 2020 WINTER SEASON - REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!

The registration period for the 2020 Youth Soccer winter season is now open and will close on December 31st.  The season starts at the beginning of January, immediately after Christmas break.  As with past seasons, all divisions are co-ed with age ranges from Pre-K through Middle School.  The cost for the season is $85 per player, with a discount for additional family members.  COACHING VOLUNTEERS NEEDED. WINTER CAMP AT SANIBEL SEA SCHOOL

Sanibel Sea School will offer two weeks of ocean camp over winter break for children ages 6-13. Please visit sanibelseaschool.org/Sanibel-camps to learn more and register for White Pelican Week and Nudibranch Week. Scholarships are available upon request.

DECEMBER EARLY DISMISSAL FUN DAYS AT REC

Half Day Fun Days: December 18th, 19th & 20th

Register your child now for upcoming Half Day Fun Days on Wednesday, December 18th, Thursday, December 19th and Friday, December 20th. Each day will offer a variety of athletic games, craft projects and special entertainment! Enrollment is available for children in kindergarten through eighth grade. Half Day Fun Days operate from 12:10 – 5:30 p.m. Each child needs to bring a swimsuit and towel. Light snacks will be provided. This new option is now available to families seeking child care on school half days; however, these days are included at no charge for children currently enrolled in the After School Program. HOLIDAY BREAK FUN DAYS! Registration is available now!
Chill out and join us for some frosty fun during this year’s winter break!   Highlights include on-island field trips, crafts, games and a variety of frozen holiday treats. The schedule will consist of 8 Fun Days this year. Fun Days will be on Monday, December 23rd Thursday December 26th, Friday, December 27th, Monday, December 30th, Thursday, January 2nd, Friday, January 3rd, Monday, January 6th and Tuesday, January 7th with no camp on December 24th, 25th, 31st and January 1st. Holiday Break Fun Days will operate from 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Enrollment is available for children in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Don’t forget to pack a swimsuit and towel.   S.W.A.T.- Register Now!
SWAT is a youth swim team program for ages 5 to 18 designed to improve stroke technique and to build endurance. Participants must be able to swim the length of the pool (25 yards) in order to participate. In addition to becoming members of Sanibel Water Attack Team, swimmers will get a chance to join Swim Florida for competitions. Don’t Forget Our Children -- Discussing Children’s Mental Health

F.I.S.H. OF SANCAP, with speakers from Golisano Children’s Hospital of SWFL and Valerie’s House, is offering a presentation that will provide information and processes to assist in better management of behavioral and mental health issues with children and youth on Wednesday, December 11 from 10:00 am –noon at the Sanibel Community House, 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. This presentation will give the public and anybody working with children the skills they need to effectively work with our youth to help identify and address mental health issues to bring about this awareness and understanding so that children with behavioral or mental health issues get the attention they deserve. LOGOS JESUS IS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD GLOW-IN-THE-DARK NIGHT AT SANIBEL COMMUNITY CHURCH

Celebrate Christmas by wearing red and green this Wednesday, December 11th for LOGOS Jesus is the Light of the World G-I-D Night. The kids will have fun experiencing a variety of glow in the dark games during the night. All families with kids ages 3 years old through 5th grade are welcome. Transportation from the Rec Programs to Sanibel Community Church provided upon request with signed authorization. H2O YOUTH MINISTRY CHRISTMAS SERVICE PROJECT

Join your friends, this Wednesday, December 11 for service projects. Middle school teens will be baking cookies and then deliver them to shut-in and public service workers on the island. High School will be stuffing stockings for homeless individuals that will be handed out on Christmas Day. All teens in 6th grade through 12th grade are invited. Bring your servant heart and have a blast working with your friends. Middle school meets from 5 to 7 p.m. and high school meets from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Youth Center at Sanibel Community Church.
