KIDS RUN OCT. 26 AFTER THE 10K RACE 4 F.I.S.H.

The Kids Run is a new addition to the 10K Race 4 F.I.S.H., and children age 10 or under may participate. No fee will be charged, nor no race shirt provided. All participants must be signed up by a parent. The Kids Run will be held at the Community Park after the 10K Race, at approximately 9:15am. Online registration is available at Fort Myers Track Club and printable entry forms can be downloaded from F.I.S.H. or Fort Myers Track Club. All participants will be given a participation ribbon and ice cream at the end of the run. FALL TRIMESTER ELEMENTARY AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Fall Trimester Runs August 12th – November 8th, 2019

Register now for the 2019 – 2020 Sanibel Recreation Center After School Program Full Year or Fall Trimester. The After School program runs Monday through Friday from 2:10 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. throughout the school year. It is available for children ages kindergarten through fifth grade. Sessions will require re-enrollment during each designated trimester and must be pre-purchased prior to the start of each session. Financial assistance is also available to qualifying families. The Teen After School program runs Monday through Friday from 2:10 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. throughout the school year. It is available for children in sixth through eighth grade.  Teens will enjoy a variety of on and off property activities throughout each school week including community service opportunities. Transportation for island activities will be provided via the City Teen Scene van.  Sessions will require re-enrollment during each designated trimester and must be purchased prior to the start of each session.  S.W.A.T. Register Now!
SWAT is a youth swim team program for ages 5 to 18 designed to improve stroke technique and to build endurance. Participants must be able to swim the length of the pool (25 yards) in order to participate. In addition to becoming members of Sanibel Water Attack Team, swimmers will get a chance to join Swim Florida for competitions. AFTER SCHOOL STEM AT SANIBEL SEA SCHOOL

In October, Sanibel Sea School will offer a series of After School STEM classes for students ages 6-13. Participants will enter the world of magnets and explore forces that attract and repel through fun, interactive activities. Tuesdays 10/15 and 10/22 from 3:30 to 5:30 PM at Sanibel Sea School, $20 per student. More details at sanibelseaschool.org/afterschool.

LOGOS ART IN MOTION NIGHT AT SANIBEL COMMUNITY CHURCH

Wednesday, Oct 16 will be a night of color and motion at LOGOS Art in Motion Night at Sanibel Community Church, 1740 Periwinkle Way. Wear your favorite color. Remember to bring a friend to earn a prize! All families with kids ages 3 years through 5th grade are welcome. Transportation from the Rec program to Sanibel Community Church is provided upon request with signed authorization.

SANIBEL COMMUNITY CHURCH YOUTH GROUP

All middle school teens are invited to Equip on October 25-27, 2019 for a middle school retreat at the Envision Miami campus. Join other middle schoolers from the State of Florida for worship time, dynamic speakers and loads of fun. Email Pastor Kevin for more information if interested (Kevin@sanibelchurch.com). Remember H2O, the middle and high school youth ministry from Sanibel Community Church meets for youth group on Wednesday evenings. Middle school students meet from 5-7 p.m. and high school students gather from 6-8 p.m. in the Youth Center. Also, join us for donuts and conversation on Sundays at 10:45 a.m. in the H2O Youth Center.                                                                                                            HOMEWORK HELPERS AT SANIBEL COMMUNITY CHURCH

Every Wednesday is homework helper day at SCC. All teens from the community and surrounding area are invited to stop by the H2O Youth Center at Sanibel Community Church from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. Adults and students will be available to help teens get their homework done. We have adult leaders with Masters degrees, Doctorates and willing hearts to be accountability partners with teens who need some extra help with their studies. Drop by for extra help with Math, Science, Spanish, or whatever subject a student might be struggling with. It is a great way to catch up on some overdue assignments, study for a test, or sharpen your skills. TEEN SCENE MONDAY 10/21 AT 6 P.M. AT THE SANIBEL PUBLIC LIBRARY‚Äč

Spheros and Snacks for ages 12 to 18. We will iPads to steer app-enabled robotic spheres. Come hang out, socialize, play games, and snack. Teen Scene events require registration. Call 239.472.2483 to RSVP by Oct. 18. PLEASE notify Ms. Deanna if you must cancel, as there is a waiting list (and shopping list).

 

AFTER-SCHOOL CREW AT THE SANIBEL PUBLIC LIBRARY

Crew (now K-5th grade) most Thursdays at 3 p.m. (see https://sanlib.org/calendar/) Crafting, building, making, and playing--with books and a snack thrown in. "DING” DARLING DAY
