AMERICAN RED CROSS SPRING YOUTH GROUP SWIM LESSONS
Spring Session: Mondays & Fridays: March 13th through April 10th
Improve your child’s comfort level and abilities in the water. Group lessons are offered for youth starting at 6 months. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Cost per session for Recreation Center members is only $55 and $73 for non-members. Any accompanying non-members must present a valid photo id at front desk. A class schedule with detailed lesson information is available at the Recreation Center’s front desk. Please call the Recreation Center for requirements and class options.
MARCH FUN DAYS AT REC
Fun Day Friday, March 17th
Register your child now for the upcoming Fun Day Friday, March 17th. The Fun Day will offer a variety of athletic games, craft projects and special entertainment. Don’t forget our gym and swim combo (weather permitting). Our regular gym and swim combo is always a part of every Fun Day at Rec! Hours are from 8am – 5:30pm and will be available for grades Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Middle Schoolers: Get ready for some fun and sun at Bowman’s Beach! Enjoy a variety of beach activities as we warm up for spring time! Refreshments and snacks will be provided but teens should pack some extra water for the day. Don’t forget to pack a swimsuit and towel. Each child will need to bring their own lunch on Fun Days. Register in advance and receive the “Early Bird” rate. Spring Trimester Runs February 22nd –May 25th, 2017
Registration is now available for the 2016-2017 Sanibel Recreation Center After School Program Spring Trimester. The After School program runs Monday through Friday from 2:10 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. throughout the school year. It is available for children ages kindergarten through fifth grade. Sessions will require re-enrollment during each designated trimester and must be purchased prior to the start of each session. For more info, call the Sanibel Recreation Center at (239) 472-0345.
TEENS AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
Spring Trimester Runs February 22nd –May 25th, 2017
Registration is now available for the new 2016-2017 Sanibel Recreation Center Teen Scene After School Program Spring Trimester. The Teen Scene After School program runs Monday through Friday from 2:10 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. throughout the school year. It is available for children in sixth through eighth grade. Teens will enjoy a variety of on and off property activities throughout each school week including but not limited to: homework research days at the Sanibel Library, Island Cinema film series presentations, entry level conditioning clinics hosted in the Recreation Center weight room, educational island beach days in collaboration with the Sanibel Sea School, daily use of the Recreation Center After School amenities, community service opportunities and local pizza and frozen yogurt treat days. Transportation for island activities will be provided via the City Teen Scene van. A full schedule will be available at the Recreation Center front desk. Although a current Recreation Center membership was required in the past in order to attend the After School program, there is now a separate registration fee. SWAT is a youth swim team program for ages 5 to 18 designed to improve stroke technique and to build endurance. Participants must be able to swim the length of the pool (25 yards) in order to participate. In addition to becoming members of Sanibel Water Attack Team, swimmers will get a chance to join Swim Florida for competitions. YOUTH BASEBALL & T-BALL - 2017 SPRING SEASON REGISTRATION OPEN!
The registration period for the 2017 Youth Baseball & T-Ball season is now open. The season starts at the end of March and runs through the end of the school year. Age ranges from K through 5th Grade with different divisions based on age and ability. Baseball division are machine pitched with the emphasis on learning the basic skill and strategy of the game. The cost for the season for baseball is $65 and T-ball $50 per player, with a discount for additional family members. For more information, and for registration, please visit www.SanibelSports.org.
