ELEMENTARY AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Spring Trimester Runs February 21st, 2018 – May 30th, 2018

Sign up now to receive early bird rates for the 2017-2018 Sanibel Recreation Center After School Program Spring Trimester.  The After School program runs Monday through Friday from 2:10 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. throughout the school year. It is available for children ages kindergarten through fifth grade. Sessions will require re-enrollment during each designated trimester and must be pre-purchased prior to the start of each session. TEENS AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Sign up now to receive early bird rates for the new 2017-2018 Sanibel Recreation Center Teen Scene After School Program Spring Trimester.  The Teen Scene After School program runs Monday through Friday from 2:10 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. throughout the school year. It is available for children in sixth through eighth grade.  Teens will enjoy a variety of on and off property activities throughout each school week including community service opportunities. Transportation for island activities will be provided via the City Teen Scene van.  A full schedule will be available at the Recreation Center front desk. Sessions will require re-enrollment during each designated trimester and must be purchased prior to the start of each session. S.W.A.T.

Register Now!

SWAT is a youth swim team program for ages 5 to 18 designed to improve stroke technique and to build endurance. Participants must be able to swim the length of the pool (25 yards) in order to participate. In addition to becoming members of Sanibel Water Attack Team, swimmers will get a chance to join Swim Florida for competitions. Stop by or call the Sanibel Recreation Center at (239) 472-0345 for more information on practice times and fee options.

 

AFTER SCHOOL SURFING AT SANIBEL SEA SCHOOL On Wednesday afternoons in April from 3:30 to 5:30 pm, Sanibel Sea School will offer surfing lessons for students ages 6-13. Participants will have an opportunity to learn how to surf for the first time, or to improve their existing skills. They will be taught proper paddling techniques, how to maneuver the surfboard through the water, and how to pop up and catch a wave. Pick up and drop off for this program will be at Sanibel Sea School’s Flagship Campus, located at 455 Periwinkle Way. The cost is $36 per child per session. Sanibel Sea School is a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the ocean’s future, one person at a time. BIG ARTS SUMMER CAMP

Registration is now open for our 2018 BIG ARTS Summer Arts Camps! BIG ARTS Summer Arts Camp offers a fun, unique, and well-rounded program of visual and performing arts for 1st - 5th graders as well as an apprentice program for 6th - 12th graders. See the attached flyer for more information.

 

KIDS COMMUNITY BIBLE STUDY

This non-denominational, Bible based after school program runs for 5 Fridays starting Friday April 13 through May 11.  Kids in Kindergarten through 6th grade are welcome. It will be a fun packed afternoon.  Kids gather in the Sanibel School cafeteria from 2:10 – 4:00 pm.  Registration forms are available on line at www.KidsForChristKCBS.com  

 

VBS AT SANIBELCOMMUNITY CHURCH

Summer’s coming.  Save the date for Rolling River Rampage, a white water rafting adventure theme for the week of June 4-8.  All kids who are 3 years old through completing 5th grade are invited to register.  It will be at Sanibel Community Church, 1740 Periwinkle Way from 4:00 – 7:00 pm each day that week.  Registration forms available on line www.sanibelchurch.com.  Or call the church office 239-472-2684.

 

YOUNG CHEFS COOKING SERIES AT THE COMMUNITY HOUSE

On Monday, May 7th, from 2:30-5:30, students at the Culinary Education Center will travel to Thailand

to learn to create Summer Rolls, Tom Yum Soup, Thai Chicken Salad, and Pineapple and Coconut Fudge. Join us to learn new culinary skills and try new flavors!

Classes are designed for students 8 years old and up; $35 per child includes the meal prepared in class.
