THE SANIBEL SCHOOL MONDAY REPORTER FOR 5-14-18
CITIZENS OF THE WEEK
Students in Kindergarten and 1st Grade earn Sea Horse tickets for good behavior, helpful attitude, and an eagerness to learn. Each week we select a Sea Horse ticket winner from these classes. These students get to come to the office and select a prize from our prize cabinet. The following students are this week’s citizens of the week: Spencer Sultz, Addison Quillen, Jonathan Chavez-Santana, and Reed Curran. Congratulations!
MANDATORY PERFORMING ARTS TECH WEEK REHEARSALS TO TAKE PLACE AFTER SCHOOL THIS MONDAY, TUESDAY, AND WEDNESDAY
Performing Arts will be having mandatory tech week rehearsals in the cafetorium and music room on Monday (May 14th) from 2:15-5:00pm and Tuesday (May 15th) and Wednesday (May 16th) from 2:15-5:30pm. We will be working to prepare for our upcoming production of Disney’s The Lion King Jr., which opens this Thursday. All Performing Arts students are expected to attend. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Giangreco via email at [email protected].
LIBRARY RETURNS AND SUMMER READING
The end of the school year is on the horizon! All Sanibel School library items and textbooks will be due on or before May 16th. All items should be returned unless still needed for independent reading or exam preparation. They should be returned earlier if no longer needed. All these items as well as Chromebooks, library barcoded chargers, and Chromebook pouches must also be returned to clear your student's Media Center account for participation in end of the year activities such as the talent show and promotion ceremonies. Please refer to the emailed list of all items checked out to your student. It should be useful in helping you and your child to gather all materials to be returned. Though we'd much rather have the books to share with other students, you can make a check out to The Sanibel School if any items are damaged, not in usable condition or cannot be found. If a lost item is paid for, but later found and returned, we'll gladly issue a reimbursement check! You may call or e-mail Ms. Payne at school ([email protected], 239-472-1617) if you have a concern about your book(s). She is always happy to help search or investigate in cases of missing items!
Please do urge your kids to keep reading throughout the summer. EBooks are available in Overdrive, accessible through Launchpad/Apps Launcher or on the home tab of our school library website www.Destiny.leeschools.net! Sunshine State Young Reader Award titles for the coming year can be accessed now! Summer reading programs will also be a blast at the Sanibel Public Library and at the Captiva Memorial and Lakes Regional libraries. Keep Reading, Sanibel!
