ELEMENTARY AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
Spring Trimester Runs February 21st, 2018 – May 30th, 2018
Sign up now to receive early bird rates for the 2017-2018 Sanibel Recreation Center After School Program Spring Trimester. The After School program runs Monday through Friday from 2:10 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. throughout the school year. It is available for children ages kindergarten through fifth grade. Sessions will require re-enrollment during each designated trimester and must be pre-purchased prior to the start of each session. For more info, call the Sanibel Recreation Center at (239) 472-0345.
TEENS AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Sign up now to receive early bird rates for the new 2017-2018 Sanibel Recreation Center Teen Scene After School Program Spring Trimester. The Teen Scene After School program runs Monday through Friday from 2:10 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. throughout the school year. It is available for children in sixth through eighth grade. Teens will enjoy a variety of on and off property activities throughout each school week including community service opportunities. Transportation for island activities will be provided via the City Teen Scene van. A full schedule will be available at the Recreation Center front desk. SWAT is a youth swim team program for ages 5 to 18 designed to improve stroke technique and to build endurance. Participants must be able to swim the length of the pool (25 yards) in order to participate. In addition to becoming members of Sanibel Water Attack Team, swimmers will get a chance to join Swim Florida for competitions. AFTER SCHOOL SURFING AT SANIBEL SEA SCHOOL
On Wednesday afternoons in April from 3:30 to 5:30 pm, Sanibel Sea School will offer surfing lessons for students ages 6-13. Participants will have an opportunity to learn how to surf for the first time, or to improve their existing skills. They will be taught proper paddling techniques, how to maneuver the surfboard through the water, and how to pop up and catch a wave. Pick up and drop off for this program will be at Sanibel Sea School’s Flagship Campus, located at 455 Periwinkle Way. The cost is $36 per child per session. Sanibel Sea School is a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the ocean’s future, one person at a time. DISNEY’S ALADDIN JR. PERFORMANCE IN SIGN LANGUAGE This special, one time performance is a must see. Deaf students, and students who are learning American Sign Language are putting on the production of Aladdin Jr. entirely in ASL! (There will be hearing interpreters on the side.) Even if you do not know ASL, this is a show that you simply cannot miss. Join us at the Sanibel Community House for the production of Disney’s Aladdin Jr. Based on the beloved Disney movie, join us and soar on a flying carpet ride filled with romance and adventure. SUMMER THEATER CAMP Creative Theater Workshop is a non-profit educational children’s theater company. This summer jump in the action and join the CTW summer camp! Join us and take singing, dancing & acting lessons. Play theater games and take workshops in the theater arts (costumes, makeup, set design, stage combat, etc.). LOGOS LIGHT OF THE WORLD FAMILY NIGHT AT SANIBEL COMMUNITY CHURCH
We invite all Logos families to join us for our Logos Family Banquet night on Wednesday, April 11 at Sanibel Community Church, 1740 Periwinkle Way. We will enjoy a delicious dinner together, see how the kids light up their world with the 2017-18 Logos video and have the presentation of the annual awards. KIDS COMMUNITY BIBLE STUDY
This non-denominational, Bible based after school program runs for 5 Fridays starting Friday April 13 through May 11. Kids in Kindergarten through 6th grade are welcome. It will be a fun packed afternoon. Kids gather in the Sanibel School cafeteria from 2:10 – 4:00 pm. Registration is now open for our 2018 BIG ARTS Summer Arts Camps! BIG ARTS Summer Arts Camp offers a fun, unique, and well-rounded program of visual and performing arts for 1st - 5th graders as well as an apprentice program for 6th - 12th graders. See the attached flyer for more information.
H20 MISSIONS TRIPS
H20, The SCC youth group, will be going on two missions trips this summer. The middle schoolers will be going to Atlanta to work with refugees at the Atlanta Envision site from June 23rd - 30th. The High schoolers will be going to the Dominican Republic from July 21st - 30th to help run a VBS, hurricane relief, and a ministry for those living in a trash dump. H20 meets on Sundays at 11, and Wednesdays from 5 - 7 p.m. for middle school students and 6 - 8 p.m. for high school students. For more information contact Pastor Kevin at [email protected].
